The Arthur Boyle Song (George Roe)

D G
There was a boy named Arthur Boyle
A D
Who wasn’t very fond of toil
D G
He hung around the house all day
A D
Roamed by night and slept all day

Chorus:
D G
Back to Wassis he will come
A D
Arthur Boyle a favorite son
D G
Yes back to Wassis he will come
A D
Arthur Boyle a favourite son.

D G
Now Arthur thought he’d work a while
A D
So he went and hired with Ted Carisle
D G
Ted thought Arthur was an awful flirt
A D
When he saw him looking up Laura’s skirt

D G
Arthur thought he’d do some more work
A D
So he got a job with Estabrooks
D G
He picked potatoes till his back was sore
A D
Then drove home with Wallace Moore

Chorus

D G
Arthur decided he needed a trip
A D
He went by car and back by ship
D G
He said he had fun the little fool
A D
On his big trip to Liverpool

D G
Now all of this about Arthur is true
A D
He’s doing the best that he can do
D G
But times are rough and business slack
A D
Arthur Boyle, he will come back
